What's up with SCO?

Post by Benjamin »

I don't know all the details but it seems like these morons sued other companies for using source code that they couldn't identify and that they didn't even own!

Good ridden to them.

News links would have been handy as I had to Google SCO - I had no idea who they were. :P

So whats the story? They are trying to sue over source code they didn't even own?

Oh yeah ... that little company from which Microsoft bought a $16.6 million Unix license it didn't need and then Microsoft referred BayStar Capital to SCO to give them another $50 million to fund its lawsuits.

Hmmmm ... and SCO sued IBM for a billion dollars and made all those claims of Linux's massive copyright/tradmark/IP/license infringement to create FUD ... none of which ended up being true ...

Yeah ... what's up with that?
