Hehe, that brings me back to FEAR. Enemies came out of nowhere (and they had like, shadow ninjas that'd disappear into the highly contrasted environment shadows) and killed you the second you *thought* you knew where they were. That's probably one of the things I liked about the game... As your being scared to death over and over, you keep asking yourself, "how the hell do the expect me to do this??" Then, you finally figure it out.
Are those two screens of similar characters? The new engine looks like a serious improvement. I thought the commercial was exaggerating it's power. Wow.

Yep, I've completed that game. Any game that induces self-defecation has to be good.

It would seem so but not really.

Bioshock is based on Unreal engine but it has been modified. In particular there's a whole bunch of new features for water effects.

On the PC it's the new Unreal3 Engine that will be used in the upcoming Unreal Tournament this fall.

* note to self: set the family aside for a month or two so you can brush up on gaming so as to understand what the bloody crap is being talked about in threads like this...

I love the snippets!
# "BioShock" a first-person shooter with moral issues
# Player must decide whether to hurt children to get new powers
# Game also features challenging puzzles
# "BioShock" set in utopian society gone wrong
I would have to say that the "challenging puzzles" are not an "also", but pretty much one of the main aspects. It should be a "puzzle action adventure FPS RPG"
