I watched the keynote, and almost got tempted to get one for my wife instead of a laptop. She basically mostly browses anyway, so it wouldn't be a huge impact for her.
However, a few things stuck out. First, its not most of the functionality. Its missing camera, stocks, maps, weather, and notes. She *loves* her cellphone camera, so thats a big left-out feature for her. Then add in maps (which I've gotten addicted to.. its SO useful), and no notes??
Its an oddball mix. I'm really not sure why they didn't include those.
The starbucks thing sounded great - until they mentioned that you don't get full wireless browsing with it. Just iTunes wireless store. Blah.
Then add in that its (far) less storage than the other iPods, and well.. its not quite as delicious.
I will take the wireless iTunes store. Should have been there at the launch of the iPhone.
But honestly, I was holding out for the next iTunes update before hacking much on my iPhone, as I figured they might come out with some wicked new stuff. Not anymore.. Its time to unleash the iPhone. If Apple won't, I will.
