Open Source shopping carts

I'm looking for a php cart that open source. I've seen a few on php script sites, but I really don't much idea which ones are on top of their game, so to speak. It has been suggested to me that OScommerce and Zen are good and full featured. But I've also read that OScommerce was a bit long in the tooth and isn't really easy to tweak. I would like to start with a good one and get to know it and not have to jump around. If any of you all have any advice, I will surely listen to it. I'm not new to php, but my knowledge isn't what it should be. (I had to start working in asp.net for my job)
Thanks

The ones I've heard "about the beat" that come recommended are Cube Cart, Zend Cart, OSCommerce and Monster Cart. Though the later is ASP iirc.

OsCommerce is possibly a bit long in the tooth update wise, years in fact, although it is the 'Grandaddy' of several of the others. CreLoaded is as far as I know OSC with many mods preloaded.
I have used and use Zen Cart which is an OSC fork from a couple of years back, certainly works and is actively supported and developed, so its now a considerably different and one hopes better code base.

There is also Magento, currently in Beta, which is not related to the OSC family, but looks quite interesting.

They're all a steep learning curve, no doubt about it. I chose Zen Cart because at the time it looked like it was going places, it installed, it worked, and the support forums were helpful, professional, and the sort of place you wouldn't mind hanging around.

i have used osCommerce a couple of times now and the integration was real easy with no hassles.

as far as tweaking goes, depending on what you want to do, its just as simple
