I bought the book "Head First Design Patterns" in the middle of summer and admittedly haven't touched it much. I really dislike the way it reads and although it covers everything in good detail, I hate the constant anaologies - I've always disliked that learning style.
I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in trading books of similar nature? If you want to get this book off me list some related material and I'll see if anything catches my fancy.
Here is the book I am wanting to trade *away*

I have the book, so I can say that I am not interested in trading for it. However, I would recommend this book to just about anyone that has a fair amount of experience in development. So if you are looking for a great design patterns book, this would be a good trade for you.
On a side note, I am translating all of the code samples from Java to PHP. I am on chapter 5 at the moment.

I've read most of it, but I personally just really hate the way it reads. It's content is fine, but the presentation drives me crazy. I don't like stories and illustrations. I learn best with plain boring text with maybe a few diagrams.
Anyways, what Everah says...
I actually just realized I can sell it on Amazon although I won't get much for it and I paid cover price of $66 CDN so I would rather trade for an equivelant. Refactoring book maybe?

That books looks interesting...I just hope it doesn't have all the annoying stories and illustrations the head first book has.
p.s-Anyone know if all the head first books read like that? I hate Dummy books to, literally they are for such newbies it's frustrating...
Never been a fan of Sams books either.

I think he could us the book himself

On another note: I'd be interested in trading but I don't have anything really of value.
Only have two PHP books:
1. PHP | Architect's Guide to PHP Security
2. PHP 5 Objects, Patterns, and Practice
and I'm keeping the latter.
So.... I guess keep waiting... seems like a good book.

Solution: join an online book subscription service and say goodbye to purchasing useless books. I dont know if you're like me but it usually takes 3 or more examples from different source before I really feel like I understand some of the complex processes of programming. Every language has them. That's why multiple sources are the way to go.

I pay $9.99/month to "rent" 5 books. Heck of a lot better than paying $66.00 for one IMHO.
