which cms do you recommend?
Hi
I need a cms ( or have to find the best cms and modify it ) that is best for my plan.
I'll need to have various account types ( probably 7 or 8 ) each having its own control panel
I'll need to have categories and sub-categories and a lot of features
I think i should start from open source CMSes to save time and money.

Why does everyone feel the need to call me by by full name? "Kieran" doesn't exactly cry out for disambiguation
I don't mind or anything, just odd is all. It's certainly better than my most recent nickname: K-Hug. And it's not a moniker, in case you were wondering.
The CMS was called "expression engine", and I'm always shocked by how little it's used. that being said, I've never used it personally, it just looks rather well done. Drupal also gets a lot of attention in the t-dot; might be worth a look.

K-Hug lol
I've heard a lot about Joomla recently, though I don't use CMS's anymore so I haven't tried it.
PHP-Nuke is the only CMS I've ever tried, and I wouldn't recommend it because I've heard that it has bad security flaws.

Due to the fact my boss wants me to design and publish working systems in under a week, I have no time to develop my own CMSs. Thus I found a CMS that is EASY for the every-day user to understand: Modx. In-fact, I ended up liking it so much i'm currently working on transfering my personal site to it... but I have no time to develop the content for the pages.
But I will say that it really is very easy to use, very powerfull, and inserting a new template only takes 2min at most.
P.S. I haven't tryed the Pod-Cast snippet yet but I really think it would be GREAT!
Edit: Forgot to address the Joomla issue... I _PERSONALY_ dislike joomla. I had used it in the past for myself and found it way to complex and not every user-friendly for the "everyday foke"... "ya'll understand?"
