Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?

Half of PHP is on Twitter. It may be one of the few social networking gimmicks I actually bother to use regularly.

Twitter is basically a bunch of people stalking each other. You post short <256 updates on what you're doing, and everyone who bothers to follow you receives the update on their timeline. A pretty good client is Ed Finkler's Spaz (those of us in the UK and Ireland may take exception to the name ;)) which is an Adobe AIR app.

You know what, having used it a bit now, I think twitter is really cool. I remember when it first came out I read a lot of blogs about it and thought the idea was kinda ridiculous but now, having experienced these things I've bought in. Thanks for sharing Paddy.

It auto-updates from Facebook... thats the only reason I use it.

A bunch of us in the T-dot tried using Twitter once as a way to stay relatively organized during a summer "BarSwarm" but it ultimately failed us :-(

I'm stalking you now Kieran. Thanks by the way. I really needed another web application to get addicted to.

By the way, I am not stalking, er, following Ole and Maugrim too.

Dudes, forgot to add that my twitter handle is everah as well. ( http://twitter.com/everah )

I saw that. Twitter can easily become a new addiction. I had to close it because if I didn't I'd be searching all over the place for people and not writing a single line of code.

mutual group stalking.... I get this image of all of us sitting in parked cars, staring at each other with binoculars.

I'm going for coffee, who wants one?
