Okay, now this is absolutely ridiculous. I looked again at the dispute, a while after it has been closed, and I saw this:
I am absolutely positive that I was never sent a request for any sort of information or action throughout that month of waiting. This is ridiculous.
Anyway, I'm now trying to Appeal the decision as a recent e-mail said I should do if I feel the product was not returned in a satisfactory state (which is true, as I shipped it in perfect, functioning condition and it was returned to me in a damaged, non-functioning condition). The e-mail I received today also told me that the refund was deducted, but that funds were insufficient and that my account is now negative. All that has apparently resulted in so far is that my account is limited from a few actions (like sending money)-- so far, PayPal hasn't made any real request for funds to balance the account.
Edit: I couldn't find the Appeal link (there's a button which says Appeal, but all it does is lead to the overview of the dispute, which doesn't have any options to appeal). So instead, I have filed a Fraudulent Claim Report which basically says that the item is not in the condition in which I originally had it shipped.
We have granted the buyer's claim because we didn't receive a response from you. PayPal has issued a refund of $83.82 USD to the buyer. No funds have been transferred from your account.
