I read a lot of blogs. Well, actually I follow a lot of blogs. A feed reader makes that very easy, I've around 280 feeds in mine. But of course I don't read all of those. Most I skip through fast. Some are in groups. So for example I might have like 30 sites with inspirational design related stuff. If I feel like it, I skip through them. If I don't have the time, I mass-mark them as read.

Technical blogs are helpful in learning stuff. Even though there's a lot of not so good stuff out there, the big advantage is that when you have a blog with comments, you can read the critical notes of other readers (if there are any). Or the (blog) responses of others on that subject.

Books are easier to read, but miss that feedback element.

He's lying. He practically Googles himself daily. :P

What an ill-conceived opinion. The people here made fun of "wikis" for a long time until they released what one could do for them.
Just because many people write about their boring life's on their blogs doesn't mean that everyone does. I challenge you to say something bad about Coding Horror.
There are numerous individuals that make a decent living doing nothing more than BLOGGING.
I'm guessing by the capitalization of blogging that you have something against this. How is this any different to those who make a living from writing a newspaper column or by speaking at conferences?

Blogs are like everything else - there's good uses of them and some more questionable uses. It's hard to talk about them as a whole.

And I'm loving Coding Horror, BTW. Nice!

To me "blogger" sounds like "exhibitionist" :P

Please, stay cool, I'm joking :)
