Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could suggest a few reputable or very good SEO companies they know of.

It is very difficult to grasp which ones are good or even genuine.

Much appreciated.

There are millions of them. However, there is a site I ran across yesterday called HubSpot that offers some pretty good free information and has a paid service as well. They also run a site called Web Site Grader that offers a lot of useful, free tips in the form of a saved report.

I think it's very important that any company you potentially want to do business with is very, very clear and transparent about what they will do for you. If a company promises you a lot, that's warning sign one. Warning sign two is when they don't tell you how they work.

I mean, basically SEO is very easy. There are no secrets. It's just a lot of hard work. Getting to know how people search, what content people are looking for, writing or getting all that great content, knowing how to promote your website, knowing how to get links, etc etc.

Speaking from experience this is so very true, be very careful about who you go with, in my case, i was actually knocked off my own SERP's to a much lower rating by an SEO company who was supposedly one of the best in there field in the UK, i wont mention any names.

May I ask a question?

What exactly are your goals in regard to SEO? Better organic rankings? Pay-per-click campaigns? Link building? Or simply a combination of all? Or maybe you don't even know? Oftentimes hiring an SEO/firm is not needed. I'd be glad to help... SEO is my forte, as the username may suggest.
