Actually I did go by olix for one particular LAN party. I've also been "the ollen" - as in alien from the film. I fear the picture that spawned that name has been lost in the abyss, or possibly "the great data loss", which I had 2 years ago when I ran mkfs without knowing what I was doing.

PHPYoungster pretty much explains itself. Pretty lame, too. If I get any better at this computer stuff, I'm goin' to have to have somebody change it.

My name just comes from the fact that I have a lot of tattoos - plus it rarely seems to be registered so I usually get to use it everywhere

Re: Whats your nick/alias history?
Super godless (intentionally lower case g) was my first screen name as religion was an important topic when I first got online using well...yeah, AOL. Yeah yeah, everyone starts as noob.
I pretty much have always gone as JAB Creations. My site was originally called JAB Cheater though I never used that as a screen name because I quickly starting using my current alias to name my site. I think it's a little bit reversed with me, I'm working on the 28th version of my site but as far as forums go still use the original alias. It does greatly irk me when I can't use spaces in user names when I register. It's obnoxious as all hell! jabcreations != JAB Creations
Bonus noob material: Not that I have used it this century but my first email address was jab_creations_email at yahoo.com.

Re: Whats your nick/alias history?
Sounds fun, so I'll throw mine into the mix.
The origins of Everah is a little odd, definitely religious and somewhat different. Originally it was derived from a Christian sermon I had heard preached at my church in which God changed peoples' names in the old testament to something containing AH (namely Sarai to Sarah and Abram to Abraham). At the time it was preached that AH was not only the sound of God but was also a part of his name (YADAH, Jehovah as well as others).
So I began to think that it would be awesome to be able to hear the sound of God. But in order to always hear the sound you need to be within earshot of the voice, and to hear it always you need to be always near the voice, so I decided that I wanted to be EVER near the sound of God - AH. 2 + 2 being what it is (not 5 for very large values of 2) Everah was born.
This, of course, is not the end of the story. As I began to develop for client I began to think that I wanted my clients to always be at ease with my services. The kind of at ease that makes you sit back in your chair, put your foot on the table, put your hands behind your head and just say "Ahhhhh". So for my name has taken on a new meaning which is that I want my clients to always be in a state of "Ah", or EVER AH. Hence the newest meaning of Everah along with my company slogan of "Ah inspiring business solutions" (which also serves dual meanings when read in different ways).

I have actually always wondered where you got Everah from...I always thought/envisioned you as a surfer dude or something and Everah was an abbreviation for something like "Everage" which translates into God only knows, in Western English.

Re: Whats your nick/alias history?
I have actually ran across other everah's in other applications/communities. Apparently it is a slang pronunciation for every (like everah body) and is used by several other users in Europe, though I have no idea why.

Hmmm, don't post round here too much... but .. since you asked.
I've been going by Pyrite since at least 1995. Can't remember what alias I used before that.
Whatever it was, it was on BBS's or fidonet, probably was using the handle Blackwater then, been so long.
Anyhow, I never tell anyone the meaning or story of my name, cause I'm not sure anymore what it is.

Re: Whats your nick/alias history?
I may take the cake as far as interesting username... no, really... read on..
My birth name is Zyuede, which is Kenyan. Though when people read my name, they always mispronounce it, because it's proper pronunciation is "see-oh-d". But as I said, they always pronounce it wrong when they read it phonetically as "zwayd" (kinda like feyd but with a z) or "zway-day".
So when I was in school, I would just started writing my name on everything as Seodee... and that insured I wouldn't have to embarrassingly explain the pronunciation of my name, except during the dreaded roll call on the first day of classes.
But anyway... I went through grade school writing my name as Seodee for that reason.
But as I started getting into web development, I noticed years ago people would call themselves "dev heads". So I went to sign up as seodeedevhead, and then after looking at it, it looked odd and I just decided to take the 'dee' out and just keep 'seodevhead'. The fact that SEO is my forte just happened to be a huge coincidence. Kinda neat I guess.
