Funny RFC's

Post by Zmodem »

I saw a thread a few minutes ago, which describes the Hyper Text Coffee Pot Control Protocol per RFC 2324.

RFC 1925 describes the 12 networking truths. #3 is "pigs CAN fly" ;)

Just wondering if there are anymore funny RFC's out there that people know about

Volka, you are sick! If I ever see you kissing babies on the campaign trail, I'll know not to vote.

Being from Germany, I can see how you may not have understood this. In seems that this is one of those American terms that's not too well understood by those from outside the culture.

When someone is trying to win an election (to be the President for example), they meet lots of people and go many places delivering speeches and various other things. Terms like "Pressing flesh" and "Kissing Bablies" are slang terms that refer to what a politician does when he is on the "Campaign Trail" and meeting lots of people while trying to get elected for some publice position.

Cheers,

of course we have it in germany, too. I was just kidding ;)
Take a look at the latest general election here. First time that there was a direct confrontation of the two candidates with the best prospects in TV (in fact there was another one who wanted to sue the stations to invite him, too 8O ) - it was called "chancelor duel". For heaven's sake a poll revealed that this duel had only neglectable impacts on the election's result. It was awkward.....
