Client: "What's that box making a humming noise beside the computer?"

Me: "Er.. the box IS the computer. This is just a monitor."

This was years before imacs so there was no excuse, and about a year after the strange box had been installed. Maybe he thought it was a floppy disk drive.

The same office ground to a halt one morning after I'd put a BIOS password on all the machines. I'd carefully left notes with the new code but apparently nobody could work out how to type in a six letter password.

Drag and drop is regarded as advanced programming in this place - after dozens of "this little piggy went to market.." lessons I eventually had to refuse to help any more.

At least I haven't (yet..) received a complaint that they can't tune in to BBC1.

I like people of this kind. They assure that I still can make my living tomorrow ;)
