PHP salary in US?

by panic!
Hi all,
A bit of a how-long-is-a-piece-of-string question here.
Basically I currently live and work in the UK, but I am eligible to live and work in the US too (American family).
Does anyone know around what a PHP Developer with 3 years experience can expect to earn in the US (especially NY where my dad lives).
I've tried Googling around and can't find anything at all.
Thanks

You could look through here to see if they give any salary info:
viewforum.php?f=17
Also there are places like monster.com that might give you a sense.

I've seen places for $100,000+ but I would imagine you'd have to be pretty much on the ball at all times for a position like that.

Most PHP developer jobs are running between $75K and $95K for seasoned PHP5 OOP and LAMP wizards where I am from. I happen to be from just north of the heart of Silicon Valley. Elsewhere the salary ranges can go as low as $35K (Gulf states, midwest, etc) but tend to hover right around $55K to $75K.
Of course none of this is relevant if you can sell yourself. I landed a very high paying PHP developer job with no college degree but a great resume. I had also not worked as a developer professionally before my current employment. I get, on average, two to three recruitment emails a week and at least one cold call a week from recruiters. Most are looking at the $85K to $95K salary range for their jobs.
I am a little spoiled, so I take myself out of the running by telling them that I won't leave where I am unless the salary starts at $110K with bonuses (because I get bonuses now) and a very lucrative benefits package. Telecommuting, for me, would also be a huge selling point.

I wouldn't work for anything less than $97k per year and it would have to be great employer. The last place I worked at paid me well but the boss was a moron so I left. I do good work and expect to be recognized for it. I had a boss that would only talk to me when he was unhappy but would never talk about everything I did right. He was really unhappy when I just stopped coming into work. I'm better off just working for myself.

Holy moses. I would from home for a well known company in Australia that develops PHP re-branded software and I only received 45K/year -- in this city, that is a decent pay for most trade professionals. Engineers, doctors, lawyers, etc make the 100k/year...
I guess I won't be recruiting anyone from here if I ever need additional help.

Of course, you have to factor in the fact that the US dollar is tanking, along with our whole economy. If we declare war on a few more countries, salaries will have to go up to $200K just to buy groceries and gas! [oops, cancel all that--no political discussions on this forum!]

Politics aside, things certainly appear to be costing more and more.

Same here, and we're euro-bound. We recently joined the EU though, so now we're "paying" the price equalization (i.e. everyone gets poorer, but we get to call ourselves "europeans" not only geographically, but politically as well.

)
Bah, politics is such a dull topic
We just bought a breadmaker machine. I warmly recommend it to anyone. You haven't eaten bread, just immitation.

The Sterling Pound isn't doing too great either. Whilst our Government is flouting that we have a low inflation rate, the real inflation rate (i.e. the rise in cost of living) is certainly not low.

I'm in desperate need of some work. Not to sound like I'm trying to steal your work, but any chance you can send any telecommuting recruiters my way? I'm willing to work part-time during my college on the cheap.
If you wish to help me I will provide a PM with all my contact details.

If you are serious Dave, post in the job hunt forum. People do read that every now and again.

I am extremely serious, I just feel like people don't get much response there. (Let me know if I'm wrong) I'll work on creating a write-up and i'll be sure to post there. Every little bit help ya know? Right now i'm just doing computer repair calls at $35 a job. (Really bad pay
