What editor do you use? 2008

Could be, could be. Although I come from the world of SimpleText and TextEdit, so many things are a surprise.

We should do this topic somehow to compare stuff. Like making a list of thingies that people find useful in a perfect editor and then we list all known if it can do it or not. Another column will show how spread this editor is..is it all OS, console etc... I kinda doubt there is no such comparison but still.

Yeah, I also love the simplicitty of Notepad 2. However in some case I prefer phpDesigner.

I used Notepad++ on Windows, but since I switch to Mac I am using MacVim

For Simple edits I use Notepad ++. It is FREE and run on low overhead.

For Major editing I use Dreamweaver.

Eclipse is good for larger project development
It is a very useful tool with class hierarchy, call hierarchy, references finding, built-in teplates , plug-ins
