What editor do you use? 2008 - 2

Post by LanceEh »

I use old fashioned Notepad, sometimes Notepad++(on occasion).

HTML Editor if I am doing a lot of CSS stuff (like the preview tab feature)

Dude, I totally started out using metapad. I still do, from time to time, but generally use something a little more developer friendly.

Have been using Dreamweaver since I first started playing with websites almost ten years ago. If you're going to dabble with anything and everything for a website environment, there isn't much better out there, especially if you're working your way up from a beginner.

Because NetBeans is still fraught with issues and the bulk of the NetBeans development team got laid off a couple of months back. Now that Oracle is taking over Sun and I could easily see NetBeans getting dropped altogether, even without fixing all the problems with their IDE.

UltraEdit. Been using it for a long time, and probably will keep doing so. Haven't found anything so far that comes even close.

For everything simple - UltraEdit.
For serious (big) projects - ZendStudio.

Well, I'm forced to use Eclipse, but I prefer Zend Studio. And often at home, for small fixes or developments, I use editPlus, just because Zend Studio is too resource-consuming for my old computer :)
