PSPad - I don't know, maybe it's not the best, but it does it for me - and it's free !
It would have been interesting to ask how long people have been writing PHP - from my experience it seems that a number of people (me included) who start out by using Dreamweaver move on to other editors after a few years - though this may be only a local variation !

I use Dreamweaver, It shows me all syntax errors and also I can connect it to my website server and I can open file from there and edit them, and just save and it'll overwrite the file on the server!

Hello!
I am new to PHP. To learn PHP and get help I joined this online developers' forum. To begin with, I gathered the requirements to learn this technology. In one of the requirements, I had to choose a suitable IDE to compile and run my PHP scripts. After visiting various online PHP documentation, I chose to use NetBeans. However when I saw the poll on this thread, I saw that NetBeans as an option doesn't even exist, leave alone getting less number of votes; which means that NetBeans does not seem to be a popular option among PHP developers.
Could any of the expert devlopers please enlighten me as to whether I have made the right choice by choosing and installing NetBeans on my system to lern PHP. Replies at the earliest will be highly appreciated. Thank you.
