Are you a famous PHP developer?

Post by onion2k »

What do you get if you search your name in Google with 'php' as an additional search term? Eg chris neale php. I get my own site second after my PEAR profile (that I never used), no surprises there, but skimming down the list a little way turns up http://developer.yahoo.com/php/ ... Coo, I'm famous! How about the rest of you?

Although I have written code that millions of people have used, neither my real name nor my online aliases are attached to it. Besides, I'm too controversial to be famous ;)

Unfortunately, Google seems to think that the term "php" should apply to the page extensions.

But anyway, as I don't use PHP anymore, I searched for smalltalk and my name. Just about the only thing "famous" is my contributions to the seaside framework, and the SSpec BDD framework (of which I am now the main contributor)

Not so much famous as having a few of the top links.

I'm not famous. It's because today's PHP World is all about looks. Of course the famous PHP'ers get the all the women too, which is unfair... but then you have to deal with all the out-of-wedlock children you have... then you buy a minivan.. then you're stuck with something like this...

Poor seodevhead :)

Glad I'm only famous in my own street. O no, not even that since I moved recently :(

I have software scattered all over the Internet, from C/C++ to assembler to PHP. None of my projects have ever garnered me any fame though. :banghead:

These fellows might end up being famous:

 I have a very uncommon surname which just makes it less relevant ;) Most of the links are for Swift.

Hmm... Pop Idol.... Oh, wait... PHP Idol!! I wonder if Simon Cowell would buy into that?

But it would be awesome if your quote appears at the top of Google when searching for "Chris Corbyn"

Yes, yes it would.

Simon Cowell would say..

"That was bloody brilliant. I've never seen PHP code so streamlined optimized and sexy. You could win this whole competition."

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&ne ... arch&meta=

My personal site comes up first, my linked in profile 10th, and my professionalontheweb listing 7th - but thats on a UK search. If I do a .com search, my personal site is first and my professionalontheweb listing second. Not too shabby :)
