If we were to talk about PHP -- it'd be interesting to see how people pronounce stuff. SQL/sequal, day-ta/data, cache (lol, yes at one time you probably said cash-aye), etc. There are better examples but I am tired.

Because I'm English I have a completely different technical dialect out here. It's funny, when I'm in the office I say things in the aussie way just because everyone else does, but outside of work I speak in my normal English Accent.
Some things I have to say differently.
English pronunciations first:
1. Data = Day - ta
2. Router = Root - er (They laugh at me if I say this!! When I first arrived I wanted to know where the best place to buy a wireless router was and how much it should roughly cost. I was met by the sound of laughter from a bunch of my colleagues. "How much should a wireless rooter cost? Where can I get one?"

In England "root" means nothing out of the ordinary).
3. Cache = Cash
4. Status = Stay - tus
Aussie pronunciations:
1. Data = Dar - ta
2. Router = Row - ter
3. Cache = Kay - sh
4. Status = Stat - tus (without elongating the "aah" sound. Abrupt, status).
There are others but I can't think of them right now.

I don't think I could ever get used to Aussie pronunciations

Keep updating the list as they come Chris, it is quite amusing
Although, I'm with the Aussies on Row-ter

Dude, I wish I was independently wealthy. I would so spring for a PHPDN World Conference. That would be bad ass.

Alas, I live in a bit of a random country that not many people go to visit...or even live in in the first place. Stupid ancestors, why couldn't they pick a bigger country to be from!?
So yes, I have not met anyone from devnet. I did go to London for a few days but nobody responded to my post about meeting up. Stupid Devnetters.
Anyway, good luck ole in the canadas.
