I'd have more fun smashing it with a hammer than recouping some money on it.matthijs wrote:seodevhead, if you hate your mac so much, can I get it cheap from you? I'd like another one for in my living room

You are aware of the fact that you hurt some people's feelings with saying something like that, don't you?seodevhead wrote: I'd have more fun smashing it with a hammer than recouping some money on it.
Anyway, let's talk about Ubuntu before you say anything more and I start crying for real.

Well you know... I wonder if I can wipe off OS X and replace it with Ubuntu... at least then it would be worth more than pocket lint.

Re: Ubuntu 8.04 released
I have been using the lastest ubuntu since it came out and am loving it. There is the slight problems I have with the ssh stuff though, its slow and the mounting of it is stupid. I opened a thread here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php? ... ost4831817 which is kinda just a rambling about the problems I have with it. If anyone knows how to fix any of those problems I have then let me know.
Other than those problems everything works just awesome. No problems with anything and my laptops wireless worked as soon as I turned on the restricted drivers for it, even the encryption worked! Holy bagesus that never happened before so I am very happy about that (now to just get internet at my new apartment
)
If it wasn't for Adobe programs being so much better than the linux alternatives I don't see why anyone would want to keep using windows especially after this vista garbage.
Love it, keeping it.

Re: Ubuntu 8.04 released
Everything seems to completely work out of the box now... which is awesome
Bluetooth used to be a sore point, but as of this release it seems to be completely flawless.
I just turned on CPU throttling for my laptop, and it's sort of awesome! I can watch the frequency of my CPU drop when the machine is idle... it's a bit like driving a hybrid; totally distracting!
Also, I love how virtualization is built in to the kernel now. I'm itching to take it for a spin!
