Question about Computer Case...

Hey gang...
Low and behold... I got a bad bearing on my CPU fan. The fan is still working... but it's running a bit rough and making some noise. Though the fan is running, it's not running at full rpm and my CPU temps have gone up about 3-4 degrees more than their norm. Not a big deal... but considering I max my CPU for extended periods of time... I don't want to overdo anything.
So I ordered a new fan for my cpu and am awaiting it's arrival. In the meantime... I have the side of my case completely off and a desk fan blowing cool cool air into the case. It's working! I never would have imagined how much cooler my components would be just by blowing a small desk fan into the case.
But anyway... here is my question:
Is it okay to leave the side of the case off of my computer temporarily for 2-3 days until my new fan arrives?
Thanks!
