Modest Mouse rocks my world. The Blood Brothers, Converge, Bad Religion, NOFX, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Portugal the Man, MSI, Jedi Mind Tricks, Flogging Molly, and Interpol are among some others that keep me sane during work.

I really listen to a wide variety of music depending on the task at hand. Something that I have to pound away at and just get done = Converge. Tedious regular work = punk. Im angry with my job = Jedi Mind Tricks. I need to get more music though, I will look into some of the suggestions you guys throw out.

I'm generally a grunge fan, so I'm always lookin' out for grungey type stuff. I found this band called Unified Theory that I'm really diggin' right now. It is kind of a supergroup of ex-members from Blind Melon and Pearl Jam's old drummer. Two bands I also have been listening to a lot.

Tool and A Perfect Circle also stay in a pretty constant rotation. Billy Howerdel from A Perfect Circle has a one-man band called Ashes Divide that I'm also pretty into right now. The only other member in the band is the thirteen-year-old son of Maynard James Keenan (tool / a perfect circle vocalist) who plays Cello here and there I guess. His name is Devo... after the band Devo LOL.

I like all kinds of music, but lately I've been really into the indie rock stuff. Still way into Pinback, Built to Spill and a more progressive rock band (but still indie) called Minus the Bear.

I always listen to a lot of Dave Matthews (solo and w/his band). Jack Johnson is great when I need to just chill out at work. Let's see... what else? Oh dude... BucketHead! Listen to "Enter the Chicken" by Buckethead and friends... it is BADASS.

If I think of anything else, I'll let u guys know :)

Oh! Isis! ISIS IS AWESOME!!! If you're into niche metal

Martin Roth, Adam K, Deadmau5, Super8 & Tab.

Whatever's playing on di.fm's Trance channel.

I own songs from both groups, but Massive Attack is much more favoured. Mezzanine was a masterful piece of work.

Dude, that song Angel... WOW. I saw them live and the guy who sings that song is unbelievable. I'd never heard of them at the time, but that definitely caught my attention. 8O REALLY GOOD. :)

What do you use to stream those? I've got windows media player blocked at the firewall so it won't work.

I use Xion. iTunes works too (for me - but we don't block anything on the firewall here), but Xion is MUCH more lightweight.

I'm so far from the mainstream that I only started listening to NIN about three months ago.

Dude seriously, the few bands that have songs that are allowed to be played on mainstream radio either sell their soul (Linkin Park) or disperse (Spineshank).

Dude, you don't wanna know!
Your head will asplode from all the progressive death metal majesty I'm currently into ;)

(But I listen to other things, jazz, other styles of metal ... wait, strike "jazz")

Anyway, for all you sissy non-metal boys, here's a soft, beautiful, female-fronted band I love and recommend to non-metalheads:
