PHP newbie, I don't know where to begin

I need to build a website for a client in two months. It is for summer rentals. He wants people to be able to upload their houses for rent through a form on the website.
I took the Job because I need this job really bad, but I have no idea how to begin. I have no experience with PHP at all, and was wondering if anybody can point tell me on how to begin creating a PHP driven website.
Also, do you think it's possible for a PHP newbie to learn PHP and build a website like in two months! or I'm I in over my head? Should I just cancel this Job?

It's possible to learn, but you are basically ripping of your client if you presented yourself as a PHP developer without being one. Even if you managed to get it done, it will be very amateurish.

You're asking us to evaluate 1) how much other programming experience you have in other languages; and 2) how quickly you can learn new skills. None of us can do that. In general, I am skeptical that anyone other than a very experienced programmer (like in VB or C# or Perl or something) and who is also an experienced web designer, could build that kind of a web site in two months.

califdon is probably right. 2 months is even a short period for an experienced developer to build something like that (not the actual programming time, but all the time needed to plan things, have meetings, communicate about stuff you're going to do and have done, etc etc).
It's a decision you need to make, but you've got to consider that even though you might need this job now (does it pay that much?), it will backfire in the long term if you end up with a very angry client.
So if I were you, I'd stop now or hire a programmer to do the work I can't do. Even if that means you loose a part of the profits, in the end it's better to have happy clients

Fake it till you make it. Just escape your database queries so you don't end up getting sued 2 years later like another fellow we had in here.

If I hired someone to do a job for me and later found out they'd lied to me about how capable they were I wouldn't hesitate to take action, either suing if no money had changed handes, or worse yet contacting the police and getting them arrested for fraud if they'd taken any payment. Regardless of how badly you need the cash lying to people to get money is illegal.
Consequently I'm locking this. We don't need the hassle.
