Opera 9.50 Released
Opera 9.50 just came out of beta. I just updated. I like it.
I thought I would share with the community that it is a good time to upgrade if you are using Opera. And as developers, who among does NOT have Opera, right?

Re: Opera 9.50 Released
Not an entirely a fan of it, but it could grow on me. I rather enjoy the old blue theme.
Re: Opera 9.50 Released
I thought old theme was bad... after looking at this new one I realized I was wrong =)
Re: Opera 9.50 Released
You can change it in settings right?
Re: Opera 9.50 Released
For some reason it refused to install the 'Classic' theme it offered through the settings dialog.astions wrote:You can change it in settings right?
And if I wanted to tweak settings, download addons/themes etc. I would do it in firefox (like I actually do). Kitchen sinks like Opera should come preconfigured and work for me (this includes appearance) out of the box.

In the Tools->Appearance window, select "Find more skins". The very first one is the "Opera 9 Standard". Download that and it will automatically select it for you.

That didn't work, as I said.Everah wrote:The very first one is the "Opera 9 Standard". Download that and it will automatically select it for you.

Re: Opera 9.50 Released
I have Opera on my wii... does that count?
I don't even bother testing in Opera... which I probably should.... but I figure it won't have issues if FF3, IE and Safari all work. A weak argument, but meh.

Re: Opera 9.50 Released
Opera almost == Safari when it comes to rendering. But I cannot test Safari on Linux (without Wine or some other hack) so I develop in Opera then test in FF. Remarkably, they are somewhat different. Slightly, but still different.

Re: Opera 9.50 Released
I have Opera lying around for when I need a "clean" browser install to test applications. It's pretty gnarly, although I can't imagine myself using it on a daily basis. Apparently it's much faster than Firefox though.

Re: Opera 9.50 Released
It is my default browser on Linux right now. It is just way more stable for me than FF and a lot lighter. Not to mention the standards compliance are unmatched.
Don't get me wrong, I still use FF. It has just <span style='color:blue' title='I'm naughty, are you naughty?'>smurf</span> me off enough to not use it as my default anymore.
