Mobile SMS service

I need some help finding a good service for a website SMS feature.

I basically want people to be able to send a txt message to a number I control and then have my site react accordingly based on the content of the message.

I've been searching around but I can't seem to find something that's relevant to me. Of the two I found, one service is only available in some european countries and the other you must be a US resident.

I'm Canadian, so I need to be able to register and the usage is geared towards US and Canadian users.

Does anyone use something like this? Or can anyone provide a recommendation to something they've heard about?

MUCH thanks for any help. :)

Bingo.

I didn't think it would take as much research/reading as it did, but I finally figured out the whole SMS ecosystem and such. It's a lot like the way domain names and hosting goes for setting up a website.

I need to get a short code (domain) find an aggregator to connect me to cell networks (host) and then get an application going so it's functional using an aggregator API (web app).

The link you posted is a good resource for a UK-based service. If anyone is looking for a North American solution...

Canada info: http://www.txt.ca/common.htm
