Ok, not really, but thought this was an interesting read. We have known all along that IE is a piece of flaming crap. The newest incarnation? Same thing.

Funny article
Maybe stop by the computer shop to buy a few extra gigs of ram and a new 16 core motherboard before installing it.

It's in it's second beta and in my not so humble opinion being the clientside guru that I am we should easily expect a Beta 3 considering how badly bugged Beta 2 is. All things considered I view Internet Explorer 9 as not only potentially competitive to Opera 9.0, Firefox 1.5, and Safari 3.0 but it might actually finish the catching up. Let's consider just how much improvement Microsoft can make on IE when it's gotten serious: 4.0, 5.0, and 8.0 are where the bulk of improvements have been. If Microsoft puts the same amount of effort in to IE9 we might actually praise Internet Explorer in the next few years. While IE8 will relieve the vast bulk of CSS related headaches it will still be sorely lacking in many other ways, particularly when it comes to JavaScript. However if you do a little digging you'll notice comments about XHTML support coming in to the scenario once their CSS is solid which it will be with IE8. So with IE9 I expect XHTML support with more emphasis on JavaScript more specifically support for critical things such as addEventListener. I hope HTML5 struggles because not only is it doing pretty much everything wrong but people who don't even know CSS1 are throwing their opinions around as if they have some shred of credibility. This is the only thing that might hamper IE9's progress.
What I do hope for is that Microsoft comes out with a solid IE9 because that will put a lot of pressure on other browser vendors and that is what I'd really like to see considering the slow progress on many things that matter that aren't getting the attention they deserve.

Mozilla wouldn't sell it for any amount of money.

No, because they will turn that to crap, too.

I dunno, I've been testing my sites on an alpha build of IE8 for awhile and I'm very pleased with how it handles css issues.
As for bloat, my machine is a beast, and I didn't even notice.

i installed beta 2. It does take longer to load. than ie7 and firefox, but I haven't noticed it's bloatedness in terms of speed of loading a web page. once it's open it works just fine for me. i run it on a dual core/4gig ram with vista.
