Make me a moderator -- please?

Probably silly and perhaps to bold of me to ask but...
1. I've been good as of late, haven't I? feyd and CC not being around much it wouldn't hurt having an extra Mod, would it?
2. I am here quite a bit and understand the rules (spamming, code hiliting, etc) and I frequently see misplaced topics.
Why do I want to be a Mod? Because I'm here a lot and it doesn't look bad on a resume either.
I wasn't sure how to get this moving but General Disscussion seemed a logical place...that way I could maybe get some feedback from non-moderators as well...either agreeing with me or telling me to go away.
EDIT | Only 5 of the top 18 posters on here are NOT moderators and I'm one of them...
Cheers

Both silly and bold. It never hurts to state your interest (though PMs would be more appropriate). We add new moderators infrequently though. When we find ourselves a little shorthanded we come up with a consensus short-list and contact them. Many say no thanks.
FYI - "looks good on a resume" is not a usually on the list.

Neither is number of posts...

I wasn't even sure who to contact so I stated it publically. Does anyone even "own" or manage this forum?

Yes, the admins manage this forum. The admins and mods make the decisions on who becomes a mod. When we see a need we address that need.
In the future perhaps you could look for an admin or moderator to contact to bring this up with.

Now that I know how it's done...I will not need to contact a moderator. I thought maybe, it was simply a matter of volunteering your time or making your intentions known.
