Dubai tower?

Post by alex.barylski »

Not sure if this is a hoax or not...but crazy none the less:

Imagine a building that tall? I'd live at the top with a parachute at hand 24/7

Oh man...that's friggen awesome...like a flying Squirrel... :P
A typical skydiver's terminal velocity in belly to earth orientation ranges from 110 to 140 mph or from 180 to 225 km/h. A wingsuit can reduce these speeds dramatically, a momentary speed of 25 mph or 40 km/h has been recorded, however 60 mph or 95 km/h is more typical.
25 MPH isn't to fast...it's a survivable landing if you could flare just before landing...you'd be running full speed.

Hmmm...me thinks I'm wearing one of those the next time I board a plane...just in case. :P

Thats insane...imagine a tower so large you could see from outer space...

I think the wall of china is the only man made structure visible from space...

I swear that is pre-colonizing people for living in space like star trek...live in a single large building your entire life...meh...I guess if you were born there you wouldn't know better...which is why it would so creepy to be cryogentically frozen and brought back to life in 2000 years...imagine the change you would have to adapt too. You think racism is bad or hard to swallow? Wait until people are no longer people but 99% borg and have no pity for biological humans. Yikes. :P

Don't think that's true anymore. There are a couple other things including the Universal Studios Florida car park I think!

Dubai is insane, I haven't been, but have talked to people who have. How cool would it be to play tennis on the roof/heli-pad of a 6 star hotel?

I figured the Great Wall of China was a myth...seeing as my brother in law was the one that told me that at a XMAS dinner years ago. :P

His argument was man made "structure" though...not structures. So cities didn't count...only single large structure did.
