Web site unavalible

Post by aafurman »

Hi everyone!
I have the following problem. Periodically when I try to acces my website (http://www.livein.com.ua) I get a blank page, the status bar in FF says "waiting for response" and nothing happens.

After about 5 minutes the site comes back to life. I tried to identify the problem, and checked the following:

ping - there was a response, no packets lost

used resorces on my VDS hosting provider - in my hosting panel I have access to statistics that shows whether I overused resources provided by hoster - no resources were overused, it did not go over the limit with cpu or memory use.

Apache log - shows no errors

I would appreciate any advice with regards to how I should tackle the problem.

Thanks in advance.

Have you sent this same question to your hosting provider? If so, what was the response?

If you're on shared hosting, send the same report to their support staff. Usually it's a sign of either a malconfigured Apache instance, or another account overusing server resources for brief periods. If they have a support status page, might be worth checking there to see if your server is listed.
