What would that solve? Housing prices and everything else is really expensive there isn't it?

Thats why I like Winnipeg. It's a cheap city. 50K/year isn't a bad salary considering doctors make about 100K

Depends where you live. The national average house price is about £160,000, but there are much cheaper areas, and everything is falling at the moment (a year ago the national average was £185,000). I've got a big pile of money saved up to buy my first place but I'm going to wait until prices are as low as possible before I do.

Monopoly money ( negotiable instruments )

you build them a website ( asset that will make them money for years to come ), they give you an I.O.U. ( piece of paper that is supposedly redeemable at a later date, assuming the speculative value of that paper doesn't drop )

I'd be interested in seeing the going rates for B2B though, like average rates for freelancers & contractors, and small website design agencies and such

and yeah the housing market has not hit the bottom yet, in the U.S. at least. I'm basically ignorant to any economy outside that

It's a pants time to move to the UK.. Recession is in force at the moment. Value of the pound is falling every day, and prices for commodities such as gas/electricity are climbing at a somewhat staggering rate (my electricity bill has risen 60% within 3 months, even though usage has not changed.)

It's high time the housing market in the UK was deflated. Prices have been saoring year on year for over a decade. Unfortunately everything else is going up as well as the housing market coming down. This has screwed many people up because they were too idiotic to think that the good times would last forever and house prices would go up for ever and so property investment was deemed "guaranteed money."

People who thought they were loaded actually weren't, and had loads of debt. Someone with 2 houses is not worth the value of those houses, they are worth the value of the mortgage, but for some reason the banks decided they are worth the selling price(s). Now the banks are penny pinching, everyone who is in debt is struggling to keep above water. Too many people with multiple properties, and far too many banks willing to give mortagages to the value of up to 6 (yes, 6) times your salary makes for a false economy.

Not to mention a govt. that are throwing money away like it is going out of fashion and are bailing out every failing bank in the UK...

Our govt. is in your govt.'s pocket. Our Prime Minister is not much more than a puppet when it comes to the "partnership" our govt.s have.
