I am software engineer, I use Java professionally as a general programming language.
I have also started some JSP and servlets developing.
I have bumped into PHP quite recently and I would like to know some other people's opinions about PHP versus servlets and JSPs (though I know it can be hard and I may become not quite popular when).
What I have seen so far, PHP looks quite powerful. I just would like to know if it is really worth of investing time.
Thank you,
Sverrir

Umm, asking whether PHP is worth investing time in in a forum full of PHP developers will probably only get you one answer
.
Comparing two languages is usually pointless because all have their strengths and weaknesses and what one person likes about one may be what another person hates. That said the number of domains using PHP continues to increase so lots of people are deciding it's worth investing time in.
PHP, it's powerful and it's free, what's not to like?

Oh yeah, forgot this...
