Energy savings the easy way, one little step at the time.

Hi,
This is my second post here at the forums. BTW, if I'm posting in the wrong section I invite the admins/moderators to let me know.
Anyhow, if you check my signature you'll realize that I'm a house painter in Southern California. I also have a deep interest in leaving a better world for our children, as far as the environment is concerned.
I would like to encourage all to do little things that will have a big impact on home energy usage. For example, the next time one of your incandescent light-bulbs burn out, consider replacing it with a CFB (compact fluorescent bulb).
Another item: When you repaint your house, please consider using heat barrier paints. Yes, they cost a little more, but the savings in energy needs is more than worth it!
These paints and coatings reduce the thermal path available for the sun's radiant energy to get into a given dwelling. Matter of fact, they can also be used on the interior of the structure as well.
Please click on my signature to find out more about these paints and how they helped the University of Colorado win the Solar Decathlon.
