Email server logs on Ubuntu

Hi All,

I have an Ubuntu server, rented from fasthosts.

A site we have on there has an email form, straight forward, but has realised that since Friday their email hasn't been getting received so they may have lost some emails from via the site.

I have no idea what mail software is on the server as I didn't configure it, I'm just using the stock-configuration.

I've checked the /var/log and I can't see anything any bounced emails. Does anyone know if the sent emails are stored anywhere on the server so I can double check?

Merci all.

If Ubuntu is like Debian, then the default mailer is Exim.

I'm not sure I understand the problem fully. People sending you email and emails haven't bee getting through, so you want to check logs to see if your internal spam assassin has dropped a email?

Maybe this will help: http://www.faqs.org/docs/linux_network/x15964.html

I'm not sure whether you have an mail server problem or a mail client problem.

Do you have a mail server installed on that Ububntu box or you use an external one?

Sorry, I will clarify.

The problem was with the client's email client. Which is now sorted. I just wanted to know if any emails that may have been sent and therefore lost over the weekend before the client's software was fixed are retrievable in anyway. I.e: stored in a log somewhere.
