I have used Google docs in the past but this time the client is a little more pro-active and feature creep is becoming an issue and I'm losing track of everything.
My bad, I know, but I'm curious if there are web based tools which are simple and concise and allow me greater control over specs?
For instance I would prefer a structured specs management proggie, where I could structure requirements in categories, sub-categories, etc.
Also associating a estimate with each requirement, being notified by email when one is added, removed, etc would be a major bonus.
Some kind of version management would be great too, so requirements which are agreed on in a release 0.5 cannot be changed once the version has been commited to. Basically If I say features X, Y and Z are what I agree to for price ABC any changes which I do not approve are not included within that quote or estimate. While they can still be included in a release, the price either goes up or the feature is pushed into another release cycle (and thus, ultimately additional fee).
Does anyone know of anything like this?
I've googled Agile/Scrum web based tools and found mostly tools so complex, Grace Hopper would roll over in her grave. So much for keeping things "simple".
Anyways, single developer, multiple (possibly simultaneous) projects, nothing overly complex but if it allowed "team" management as a growth option that would be cool too.
Is there anything like this you are aware of?
p.s-I have no idea why I chose to pick on Grace Hopper...
p.p.s-I have looked at all preimum ads on Google for Agile and Scrum tools. I need something free for a single project at least and web based for client/me collaboration. Somethign web 2.0ish where simplicity is key.
Cheers,
Alex
