Anyways...seems most of your issues have been caused due to the size of the corp. you worked for. Fortunately I have only ever worked for small(ish) companies (< 30 employees).

Office politics suck...sure...but on a person to person basis I get along with most...as for lazy bastards...I haven't had that misfortune in software thank god. Most people I have worked with were passionate about it like me and willing to work as much as humanly possible.

I have worked with lazy buggers though...in other jobs...like pumping gas, warehouse, movers, delivery drivers, garbage pickup, etc. In those jobs, being physically lazy is a real drain so I understand sort of what you are saying.
