I was wondering what would be recommended way to setup windows so I test on multiple IE versions. Currently I got linux host and one windows guest (using virtualbox). I got Internet explorer 6.0 there. Wonder what would be easiest way to have IE 7 as well. Not quite sure I want anything below IE 6. Well not having to install new guest windows for each version of course :)
Cheers.

I run XP as my main OS with IE8 for my system IE. IE8 let's me test IE7's CSS rendering though it's not a reliable clone of IE7 as far as some scripting issues are concerned.

I run Virtual PC with two images. The main one I use has IE6 as the system IE and then I have standalone versions of IE 4.0, 5.0, 5.5, and 7.0. I have not found a working standalone of IE 6.0 however.

Having IE8 installed disables all the standalones except for IE7. I have a second Virtual PC image of XP with IE7 running as the system IE though I only use that on rare occasion.

Do a search for stand-alone IE though on your image keep IE6 as XP's system IE. I'll subscribe and try to help you out with that if you need any more help. :)

I use IETester: http://www.my-debugbar.com/wiki/IETester/HomePage

Only problem with this is, it seems to break every time I install an IE update from MS, so I have to reinstall.
