My name is Andrew Wickham. I found this site through the KlipFolio program. I'm a web designer, graphic designer, programmer, and computer technician. I am fluent in the following languages: PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, XML, and SQL.
I am in charge of my own company, LiquidPro... hence the name. Still haven't done anything with the domain though.

I started with computers 6 years ago, and started coding with PHP 3 years ago.

I live in Ohio, USA

I'm 17.

That's me, I'm simple... and plain.

I'm CJ Harries. I just started learning markup languages this summer, got MX suite, and then decided to teach myself php, java, and perl at the same time. I work for a record label, and do most of the promotion. I know HTML and CSS somewhat fluently, and can take apart enough Javascript, Java, and Flash actionscripting to understand it. I do some graphic design(I suck) and some web design (slightly better) on the side. I'm 15, and live in Podunk USA (otherwise known as Wichita, Kansas).

Name: Angus Lepper
Location: Falkirk, 26 Miles from Edinburgh Airport, Scotland, UK, etc.
Birthday: 8th November.
Notes: Been doing VB and HTML since I was 7, never really got into games, although I do a little Direct 3D coding on the side. Mostly I've done boring office-type apps, you know - word processor, network scanning tool, commercial chat application. I doa little design and development (although it has to be said my coding is by far better than my design). I use far more acronyms than is generally healthy, including in general speech, have been berated by using lol in real life after someone told a joke, live in the middle of nowhere, and can code VB, PHP, ASP, HTML, CSS, SQL, JS and XML. Currently learning Perl and C++. I do some work that I generally set out to charge for them do it for free because I'm such a wonderful, kind person. I'm somewhat paranoid about security, although slightly less so except on my computer, than I used to be. Mostly I do coding for desktop applications for a Stock Market simulation for Flight Sim (I love Flight sim. The stock market is for virtual airlines - you fly, and amass hours, virtual dollars, and can spend them on real world things such as addons for flightsim. Hey, it's sad and geeky but great. :) ). Have played the odd MUD, found them quite boring, love the Command and Conquer series - have every one except tiberian sun and aftermath. That's me, compressed into a paragraph, with all my favourite tpyos (generally DOuble UPpercase... just noticed - that typo wasn't deliberate) and comma splices. Oh yeah - I like to write fairly professionally, and spell correctly, etc, but not to the extent of stupidity.

Got some problems with a website that I worked on (Its pretty <span style='color:blue' title='I&#39;m naughty, are you naughty?'>smurf</span> anyway) which is ding my nerves in. But trying to relax...listenin to some Marvin Gaye, some Barry White. Got some beer as well. Despite problem life seems pretty cool right now. Which is good...might have a good night sleep.

Yeah, I'm one those 'non-programmer' types that knows how to code sort of... But I am learning. I recently acquired the habit of posting my code on this forum between .

I've been coding in php and javascript for about 9 months. That's about how long I've also been posting on this forum.

Cheers

My true name is Paddy - no Irish jokes please...:)

I'm reregistering under my Maugrim nick after being absent for a few years - this is what happens when you start work after college...:(

Luckily I've recently switched employment, got a far more enjoyable job for less workhours and better pay - this is what happens when you reassess your career...:)

My main PHP tasks are game development - I develop two games.

The first is a fork of Solar Empire called Quantum Star SE - http://www.quantum-star.com

The second is a coded from scratch RPG called Shadows Rising RPG - http://www.shadowsrising.net

Please judge my skills on SR - QS suffers from "Too many cooks" syndrome...lol.

Hello

Post by davidjwest »

Name: David (you may have guessed that from my cunning username)

DOB: 10th Feb 1970

Sex: Male

Place: Leeds, UK

I know almost nothing about php and though this may be a good place to learn. I have been programming in various languags for over 20 years, Basic, Cobol the usual stuff.

I have an idea for a multi-player web based game which I want to use PHP for, so here I am. It's going to be a long job but I find it easier to learn things if I have a goal to achieve rather than just read a book etc over and over........

My forum (for game ideas etc) is here:

http://www.speedworx.org/phpBB2ps/

Anyone who wants to give me advice/comments (on the game as well as php etc) is welcome to have a look.

New PHP coder

Post by arpad »

I'm an old Windows programmer trying to make the switch to Linux and web-programming.

I made the switch to Linux on my home PC about six months ago and, by and large, it's been problem-free. I'm running Mandrake 10.0 and spent a while just getting used to the environment and how to do pedestrian things.

I've done some Java programming and like the breadth of possiblilities that the language allows but after working most of the way through "Teach Yourself PHP in 24 Hours" I've come to the conclusion that PHP suits me better.

Richard, 28, living in Stockport, UK.

Currently working as IT Manager for Henshaws Society for Blind People a largeish charity based across the North of England. Its nice to work for an organisation that does some good :)

I recently project managed the redevelopment of website which won a Visionary design award from the NLB. yay :D http://www.henshaws.org.uk to see my cheesy grin staring back at you

Basically my job involves anything and everything to do with IT. Mostly its network/sysadmin things, development of the network etc. etc., currently attempting to develop an intranet based around php, IIS and MS SQL (I like to do things the hard way and I like integrated Windows authentication).

Been working in IT for about 3 years and fiddled round with PC's and HTML before then. Currently studying for an MSc in Information Systems with OU, why oh why did I start?

Outside of work I like rockclimbing, hillwalking and other fitness related shenanigans.

When I get time I also like a quick blast on various fps games, if you played GR, CoD, or any of the Delta Force games you may have heard of UKLF of which I've been a member for about 3 years - http://www.uklf-squadron.co.uk

Hey, the name's Matt.

I run a website called EmuFAQ and have a very keen interest in anything related to Emulation. Among Emulation is Politics, Computers, HTML, Top Secret Stuff, Anarchy, Music, Football, Boxing, and Women (Especially mine  )

I like to stay inside, unless with friends and our drinking, on the computer surfing the net or on MSN (I don't live in town, so it's my only means of communication besides the phone).

I know HTML, but that is limited to the very basics of it.

Anything else, just talk to me
