I have been writing programs for computer systems since 1976 when I joined the Air Force in Computer Information Systems. I bought my first computer in 1977. It was the venerable Radio Shack TRS-80 Model I. I have been writing programs for various computers ever since in various languages from assembly to fortran to C to PHP.
I started my first software company in 1980 selling entertainment software I created for Radio Shack and Commodore computers.
In the latter part of the 1980's I created the first 6 voice stereo hardware module for the Commodore 64/128 along with the Stereo Player for SID music. I created Digiplayer for the Commodore 64 which would play Amiga IFFs, MAC sound files, PC WAV files and RAW files.
Because of my work in creating the first 6 Voice Stereo software for the C-64/128 I was contracted to create the music player module for the Quantum Link online service which eventually evolved into AOL. The module would allow room moderators/admins to send music to anyone in a chat room from the library of thousands of music files on Quantum Link.
I was a software developer on the Commodore C-65 designing the music, digital audio and text to speech software. Sadly Commodore folded before that nifty computer could be finalized.
Over the past few years I have worked on various projects varying from commercial applications to online games such as Tribes(3rd party add ons) and Unreal 2004(3rd party add ons). Way too many to mention here without completely boring everyone to death, if I haven't done so already.
I am currently disabled/retired and working on a hobby browser based game called
Alien Assault Traders.
My other pet project is
ADOdb Lite, a very small, fast replacement for ADOdb. The package supports most of the core abilities of ADOdb and more modules and database drivers are constantly being added.
And since I am getting older I am a cantankerous old fart.
