Have been doing webdev for about 10 years but only started PHP-ing about 5 years ago... Use to be based in Africa, but immigrated to Germany last year. I am a middelware developer and use mostly scripting languages..

I guess PHP is as hard core as I would go...

My name is Willem by the way.. and I bet that I am taller than you :D

Well, that is just a little more knowledge than that needed to be utterly dangerous. Welcome to the boards Ryan.

Hello everyone,

Much like Ryan, I am a complete novice at PHP. I enjoy learning as many different languages for the computer because it will always help me progress with my job.

My name is Bryan, Grafixx was given when I was a teen because I drew a picture of a court-jester from my friends 10' bong and it's stuck ever since.

Anyway, I'm in the U.S., unfortunately in Texas which is really bad because I don't like it but am looking to get out of here.

I'll probably be posting a whole lot of questions, comments and responses because of my inexperience with PHP, Apache and MySQL so I hope you all are going to be very willing to help me out. You all seem like good people from the posts that I've read.

Thanks in advance for all the help that you give to me.

Hope to hear from you all.

Thanks,

B

Greetings,
I am Stephen from England. I've always been interested in coding and have dabbled with C++ & Java. It's only recently I've become interested in PHP and MySQL so I'm learning as much as I can at the minute. I have a website I do all my testing on which is http://stesbox.co.uk. Feel free to visit and post on my recently coded guestbook :)

Regards, Stephen

Hi my name is Greg,

I am a web designer and developer up here in Wasilla, Alaska. When I am not hanging pictures in my igloo I am trying to master PHP and continuing in helping clients. Thanks for the forum guys, it has been tons of help.

P.S. If any of you work for a decently large web-designing firm that is looking at branching out, Alaska is virtually untouched and we have the fastest growing ratio in the nation...you may want them to take a look at it.

Wah is the SEEEEEN?[translate]What's Happenning?[/translate]

My name is Kendall aka Ice...
I'm from the caribbean...(am i the only caribbean guy here????)
Down here we are new to PHP as we are completely Microsoft (I'm talking caught up in the Matrix...PHP who???)
There are very few PHP/ MYSQL developers here and we are now begining to really utilize the internet and website for economic, industrial and social uses for our country.
I like heiniken, never been to any other country...and dont have those IT certified qualifications that you guys probably did in schools and stuff. The skills and knowledge i have gained in my lifetime in this field has mostly been here wit you guys and well books and internet. I'm also a pretty good AJAX and Actionscript programme. I don't consider myself a "MASTER" but i am thankfull that you guys have dubbed me the title...although i really wonder what is the basis you guys use to determine these things....i think it was my good looks and my caribbean style...Yeeah MON!!

The one thing i would really like to be competent in and i think i really MUST attain some sort of certified recgonition in is being able to deploy/ implement e-Commerce driven solutions. Our country is yet to grasp the concept in terms of the technical aspects and its a HUGE obstacle for developers in being able to offer international solutions without some serious RED TAPE.

anyway...

Look out for my portfolio site real soon
