Hey everyone,

Found the board this morning. Joined because I am looking to network with some experienced PHP developers that I can call on for occasional work. I run a design & development firm out of Auburn, California. Looking forward to meeting some of you.

Welcome aboard Paul. To answer your question... yes, it is totally possible. I know. I did it.

@rose: this is a help / discussion community. There are many great introductions to PHP on the web (Google is your friend) but we're here to help if you have specific problems and/or questions.

The general rule is: Try it. Then Google it. Finally, ask for help if you're still stuck.

I've been browsing the site for the last couple days, but this is my first post. I like a lot of what I've seen so far in this forum. I especially like that there are entire sub forums devoted to security, testing, theory, and usability; all areas that sometimes get missed in some of the other forums I've frequented. It seems like there are a lot of good developers here, so I look forward to learning from you all. Hopefully also I'll be able to improve my coding and help a few others in the process. So, hi!

Hi, I am from Austin, TX. I've been doing php for about 3 years. I also do actionscript. I love doing this stuff but find it very confusing at times, which is why I'm here.

Well, I'm a 14 year old highschool student (going on sophmore) from NYC. I came here to learn, as I never got passed the beginning stage of PHP.. I was a previous IRC-"addict" (even though I mostly just idle now), and.. I do teenage stuff. Though, I do find myself more tech-savvy than your average teen. :P

Cheers,
