I'm a huge lagomtjock heavy stinking strong fella, who has inherited farmer genes from both mom's and dad's families. (Mom's grandpa used to raise flag poles with his own hands. Dad was the strongest man around twenty years ago). I can lift stones bigger than most people can, but I break down by sitting in front of this machine. Which I do both at home and at work. (stupidity at max!)

I built my own electric guitar amplifier and feel pretty good at playing it as well. I like instruments like drums, flute, cello, piano, steel string guitar. And they should be played dynamically and powerfully.

Recent albums that have caught me, ranked the best one first:
1. Vanessa Carlton - Be Not Nobody (for all beeing perfect but the lack of good electric guitars)
2. Norah Jones - Come Away With Me (for its beautiful melodies)
3. Evanescence - Fallen (for beeing both melodical and heavy and for the guitar sound. But this one really IS falling. A short lived type of music. In a few years, noone listens to them anymore.)

Started out programming in turbo pascal. Learned to do windows GUI software the hard way using TMT pascal
Been doing PHP for 2,5 years. Started playing (seriously) with OOP in PHP in the beginning of this summer. (I won't accept it has ended...)

I live alone in a small house I bought for 60 000 kr, wich can be compared to $6200. Alone in here I can shout and sing as loudly as I want (ie. imitating Dave Grohl) without disturbing anyone.

I work at the very same company that educated me in electrical engineering. http://www.nineab.com
We have 26 students in right now learning about the fundamental things needed to get auto didact on the subject for the rest of their lives. (if they're good )

I'm 25 in case anyone wondered.

Don't step on my dreams! I want to be a full time musician... 8)

SUP.

I'm pretty much your average redneck from Kentucky, but with computer skills beyond "I can start and shut down windows 8O "

I've been working with pc's since about the age of 11, started coding with vb back in 3.11 days, switched to delphi and html in the windows 95 days, and started coding in php about a year or two ago. I started working as a programmer when i graduated from high school at ACS Shared Services. I helped them convert their ez/c and fortrane applications over to delphi, and also made their julian date y2k chances (joy... ). I've worked for Lexmark Inc., Central Kentucky Mechanical, KIH ( an ISP ) and various web development firms.

i'm not a php guru by any means, but give me a few years and we'll see :P

i love chess ( member of the United States Chess Federation ), beer, and most of all the WOMEN of kentucky.

i'm currently unemployeed and just trying out new things with php on my spare time from school while i try to learn this awsome language. I'm currently going for a BA in Computer Science and Buisness.

I don't claim to be a good speller, but i claim to know what i'm talking about at least 60% of the time :P

Hi.

I'm Gen-ik, and I've recently tripped over the dog.

If you want to know more then read on.....

I once worked for Acclaim Studios creating sound effects and composing music for video games including,
Batman and Robin (psx),
Armorines (psx, n64),
Forsaken (psx, n64, dreamcast, pc),
Extreme-G (n64),
Extreme-G2 (n64, dreamcast, pc),
FurFighters (psx, dreamcast, ps2, xbox, pc),
Revolt (psx, dreamcast, ps2, pc),
Driven (ps2, xbox).

I'm signed to a UK record label called No Bones Records and write/produce my own albums. My 3rd album has just been released.

I've had music videos played on MTV UK and other music channels across Europe, and have also had airplay on UK and European radio stations with a shed load of magazine reviews to boot (including Muzik, DJ, I-DJ, and Ministry).

I also do website development (design, programming, audio, animation, etc) and will shortly be starting my own website hosting company where you will get GIGs of space and not just a useless few hundred megs.

Oh, did I mention I've recently tripped over the dog?

I am 27 year old single web developer living in Montgomery, Alabama (Someone get me out of here!). I have a BS in Computer Information Systems. I been programming ASP for 3 1/2 years on the job. I do ASP for a living, but I do PHP on the side. I like PHP. I didn't have a hard time switching over. It was easy to learn especially with programming experience. I love OPEN SOURCE! That and the likes of Bearshare, WinMX, and Kazaa has made it heaven for me.

Im 17 and live in England.

I run bit-tech.net and have done since I was 13. I code in C/C++, Java and PHP.
I've been using PHP since PHP3, when I wondered how the heck I could create something to list all the files in a directory on a webserver (i thought that was REALLY cool :P).

I am currently studying A-Levels in Physics & Electronics, and hope to attend Staffordshire University next year to study for a degree (BSc) in Network Engineering.

My desktop is KDE on Slackware9, i run a headless slackware 9.1 box for coding on, and all of my other (4) machines are on winXP.

Well, I'm new to these wonderful forums, yet I'm addicted to the community here.

My name is Pyrite, or Py for short.

Php is pretty hot poop. I love it. It's my job, my hobby, my life and my wife.

I'm 23 (24 next month). I live in Colorado USA. The rocky mountain state. Although, I dont' like the outdoors. Just give me a room with electricity and a table/chair and I'm consumed by myself. (and these forums of course).

I also like Linux, and other unices.

I like lanparties, Q3, Tribes II, Urban Terror are my fav's .

My music is electronica. Although I love coding while listening to chip tunes or 'mods' as some call them.

Oh, and I have a website, that I made from scratch.

http://www.pysquared.com/

I hope to contribute to these forums and also learn what I can from others.

Cheers.

Ahh, never noticed this thread before.

My name is Rory and my personal homepage can be reached via http://www.roryhansen.com ( ... or microthick.com, same thing). I'm 21 and am a 4th year student at UBC (http://www.ubc.ca) studying CS.

I've been doing web stuff since highschool and can program fairly well in 5 or 6 languages including Java, C++, Scheme, PHP, ColdFusion etc, etc. Currently learning ASP.NET.

I have multiple clients that I do web programming and web design work and am setting up shop at http://www.webwerks.ca to front my home-based business.

I'm Ryan, and I come to and go from PHPDN in spurts. Either I'll post my arse off for a while, or you won't see me for months on end. I'm more of an (X)HTML/CSS guy than a PHP guy, but I know enough about PHP to make functional sites and help out the occasional newbie.

When I'm not on some contract I do web design privately, and make new jokes in my profile, usually stolen from obscure pieces of literature and media.

I live in Canada. Southern Ontario to be more specific. You wouldn't have heard of the town. It's not really called Golgafrincham, that's one of the jokes from a (semi) obscure piece of literature.

I one day hope to live the dream, and make a living off of my writing, but until then I'll stick to computers.

If you read this far, you must have an awful lot of time on your hands.

That's okay, imagine how much time I must have to have written it.

Hi,

I'm YoGi, basically an Artist. My mainstream of interest are Photoshop, Flash, 3D, photography and canvas.

What am I doing here ?

Well I been working as web designer since long. and to help myself better with my work I kept learning new things. Tough I'm not a pro in programming, I'm able so far that I don't need to pass my work to other programmer. Basically I want to use programming with designing skill very tightly to create better website for my clients.

So why PHP, not ASP ?

I worked on ASP for while, and though I work on Win32 platform I always liked robustness and stability of linux. And when I started tryinh my hands on PHP, I really loved it's flexibility and supiriority compared to ASP.
And since I needn't change my OS / Platform for PHP, I could stick to my Desining Apps and PHP, I started going Deep in it.

So what is the end result now ?

Well, Today my standing is pretty good (sometimes confusing to myself)
I'm a designer who can animate things and use programming for it.

Hiya,

Just a quick introduction from me.

My name is Tim, I'm a web developer and I own the business Focus Web Design.

I normally use ASP as my main server-side language, but today I started dabbling into PHP. So, here I am :) I thought I'd come past here for a little bit of help (I have posted one question so far to the appropriate place). And hopefully I'll be able to stick around to help other people once I've learnt alot.

- Tim
