Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hello Everyone,
I'm a second-year Web Design student from the UK and our course has just moved into the area of PHP. My actual PHP assignment is a self-learning one and one in which I have had to write my own self-learning contract - basically it is up to me how I go about learning PHP. Along with the usual websites such as PHP.net and the W3C site I have stated in the contract that I would join this forum to seek support and assistence.
The first part of my learning contract is research how PHP works within the Industry and what are its capabilities and limitations.
I would appreciate any help from any members here, such as informative websites, which books to use for research and any other information anyone thinks may be of use to me.
I have done a lot of my own research into the above things but any further help would very welcome.
best wishes,
Brian.

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Hey guys and girls,
I'm pretty new to PHP, been teaching myself and getting quite far now.
Although I do have a problem, but that's posted in a different thread.
Hoping to get a job in programming PHP but apparently you need a bit of paper that says you can (qualifications)
How many of you have managed to get a job in this without quals and certs?

Re: Introduce Yourself!
Morning all.
I'm Jef, from the Chicago-land area. I'm a website admin for our local youth softball league, and I'm working on changing it from strictly HTML-based to more database driven. I'm teaching myself from a few books and mostly doing stuff, but I've got a long way to go, and I may have hit a wall. So I thought I'd post a hello and when I get my horrible code figured out and need it neatened up a bit, or when I finally give up and say "PLEASE HELP ME!" I'll come by and post.
Have a wonderful new year everyone!

Re: Introduce Yourself!
I'm back.
Job hunting lately, learning some fun new stuff, figured I'd come back to one of my favorite PHP resources.
