Name's Alex. I've been all over the place, but currently I'm a college student in sunny southern California. I've gotten into PHP a few years ago (3-4). Since then the only struggle were the ideas itself, and not the lack of programming.

Hi,

I'm Gavin from the UK, I've been coding in PHP since 1995 so got a few years experience. However almost all my experience has been in so called "procedural programming" rather that the newer "object oriented" variety which really wasn't around in 1996 for PHP.

I've coded PHP sites both for small clubs and churches right through to a major data consolidation and management reporting suite for a major blue chip company.

Other than PHP I've used Basic, VisualBasic, Perl, BASH, HTML, CSS, Javascript and more recently the awesome jQuery & jQueryUI. Also looking with some interest at HTML5 too.

I'm on here to see if I can convert my skills to OOP but it's proving a much bigger step than I thought it would. Any advice much appreciated!

Hi,

I am a new PHP programmer, not sure what else to say. I started working in IT about 5 years back working with plain HTML/CSS and the CMS Joomla!. After working with a group of clients, I decided I wanted to do more than what Joomla! could do by writing my own code. Here I am, writing my own code, not sure if I am doing it right, but we will learn either way.

Thanks..nice forum..

Hi all,

I am equally a new PHP programmer. During 5 years I was working as an IT Finance engineer and was using mainly VBA and SQL and later, since 2009 I started using Joomla. I have good knowledge of C/C++, VBA, CSS and MySQL and presently I am trying to make an intensive PHP training.

I plan to develop during the next months my PHP portfolio since I would to become a Web developer contractor.

Thanks and regards,

Booster

Howdy ya'll! I just got put in charge of my company's website. Fortunately I'm not the one doing the coding. But still, I figured I out to refresh my memory so I don't look like a total tool to the programmers.
