Time To Share Interesting Websites

Post by kaisellgren »

Hi,

I am sure many people in here have one or more interesting websites bookmarked, but the question is why to keep it to yourself? How about we all put here a couple of great websites we have found so that we can all benefit?

Let me start with a few.

Interesting caching strategies: http://faq.javaranch.com/view?CachingStrategies
Essential MySQL performance tips: http://jpipes.com/index.php?/archives/9 ... hings.html
A couple of website performance boost tips: http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/archives/000807.html
Some nice JS effects: http://blog.nihilogic.dk/
Nice site teaching Unicode, encoding and character sets: http://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/chars.html
PHP UTF-8 cheatsheet: http://www.nicknettleton.com/zine/php/p ... sheet#body
PHP & Datetimes: http://laughingmeme.org/2007/02/27/
Nice list of photo effects: http://www.blog.spoongraphics.co.uk/art ... to-effects
Nice JS powered components: http://interface.eyecon.ro/demos/
Lots of stuff about cryptography: http://www.ciphersbyritter.com/GLOSSARY.HTM
Neat and short explanation of certificates: http://www.x500standard.com/index.php?n ... 09Overview
General security chit chat: http://nvd.nist.gov/cwe.cfm

I had over 800 very useful bookmarks, but I lost them all, because I forgot to backup my bookmarks! Now I am using Google bookmarks and I will never lose anything even if my HD gets formatted.

I would have to consider Scott's website my own website's sister site, so-to-speak.
http://www.schillmania.com/

I've communicated one or twice this Brother Cake though his main page isn't application/xhtml+xml many of the pages on his site are.
http://www.brothercake.com/

These sites are all served as application/xhtml+xml...
http://juicystudio.com/experiments/colour.php
http://www.health-plus.eu/
http://www.koeppe-net.de/thomas/sgml/browsers.xhtml
http://sierkbornemann.de/
http://phonophunk.com/
http://www.splintered.co.uk/

...only about half of my original list though.

A few PHP sites I follow:
http://weierophinney.net/matthew/
http://blog.fedecarg.com/

and here's an interesting site on data visualization/infographics
http://flowingdata.com/

and in these times it's of course interesting to follow what economic Nobel prize winner Paul Krugman has to say
http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/

@Jab: kaisellgren asked about interesting sites, not about sites served as application/xhtml+xml
