ASP because it starts with an "A" which makes it alpha-dog :P

p.s-I hate seeing an empty thread.

ASP is the Alpha-Quality Alpha Dog rocketing from Alpha Centauri. PHP is only a dumb moon rock or a beta test cat or some crazy unrockety letters that make no sense to you empty thread haters ...

The only reason I like PHP is because of all the hot chicks I get.

Seriously though - you're asking which language we prefer on a PHP forum? Did you really think ASP would get many votes?

I think, CKEANEDesign, that you are being given a subtle hint or two that asking your question on a discussion forum devoted to php is not likely to elicit anything more "fair and balanced" than Fox News. Oops, no politics here. That was only for illustration.

Edit: pickle types faster than I do.

Edit 2: Practically everybody types faster than I do.

One of the last books I have (ever) purchased was an ASP book. It was so chalk full of telling you how to get it to spit out MySpace anti-code I was so surprised I didn't spot such crap when I was first looking at it. I've heard there are some serious language constraints in ASP compared to PHP. Plus with the whole tie-in to Windows and Microsoft's desire to get rid of the last good OS they have made ever (XP) I really don't see the point in ASP to begin with. I think the only thing it may have going for it is that it rewrites the anti-code in to machine code or binary (can't remember which) for faster processing by the server. Thanks for the PHP cheerleader picture, I remember that from years ago...I wonder if any one might happen to have it in a resolution of 1920x1080? Hm....

If you're using Microsoft servers, ASP and then ASP.NET is a much more capable and powerful dynamic web environment than PHP. In a *nix/Apache environment ASP really isn't a choice so PHP wins by default.

Where's the proof? Also, define "capable", "powerful" and "dynamic".
