What do i think of this site??

Ye' old general discussion board. Basically, for everything that isn't covered elsewhere. Come here to shoot the breeze, shoot your mouth off, or whatever suits your fancy.
This forum is not for asking programming related questions.

Guys we've tried to be reasonable and help. But anyone this smart obviously doesn't need our help and is just here to torment us.....

But I do wonder how someone this smart with knowledge of the internet can not know what "view source" means as mentioned in the non-flame post.....

This is the bit that takes the biscuit:

How the hell do you know that? You hadn't had a reply in a couple of hours - most posts are answered within a day (we're all in different timezones here so just 'cause it's the afternoon or whatever for you doesn't mean it's such a convienient time for others).

Once again, if this thread is for the betterment of the forum then what are your suggestions? You have not yet done much else other than troll.

Everyone can decide wether to participate or not. I will not (only now, since it's the first time it happens here [at least it seems so])

Sling another fag in your mouth and suck deeply there lianski - you need to calm down and learn a bit of netiquette.

Yeah, your afront gained a lot of replies and from reading them I'd guess it gained you no new friends. You might even have offended some people enough that they refuse point-blank to answer any of your future questions.
Very clever.

And what is the whole point of this execercise, Liansky?

You claim: you got people talking, which you define as a good thing.
If you had a look around (and it is generally advisable to do that before you post) you would have discovered that there is lots of discussion going on. Hardly surprising, as this is a discussion-board.

Regarding being smart: Those people I think of as being smart have the fantastic ability to listen, analyse and come up with a concise and relevant question and/or answer.

As was said before, users of this board help other users because they want to, everybody volunteer and take time to deal with other people's problems, people they don't even know. They only thing they have in common is that they use this board.

Bearing this in mind, I find your attitude as expressed above highly pubescent and immature.

was my post deleted? damn it. People troll, curse, call people names and flame. End result I get my post deleted.

Alright hears what I think of this forum. It's pretty much the standard forum. Though I think each site might need to get they own - separate forums to handle there own set of newbies (which constantly popup). I joined this forum to get my "forum" (which I built all be my self) reviewed by php experts, designers etc. Only reason I haven't posted it yet is because I want to help some other people first.

I actually have the Klipfolio thingy and you people get so many newbie posts that I can't even start to try to help anybody. It's not a bad thing, really. But I wonder how many unanswered post you people have? So I mostly just lurk around hoping to get some helpful information.

my 2 cents.

Very good response rate

Doing a quick bit of checking.
At the time of this post there are 9630 topics as shown on the index page to the fourms.
There are currently 822 unanswered posts. Again according to the forum site.

So a quick bit of math
822/9630*100=8.54%
So that means that just over 91.4% of the posts get answered.
To me that is a pretty outstanding percent.

The mods that run this forum should be proud as well as all the people that post questions and especially the people who take the time and effort to provide answers to those questions.

There are several php forums around but in my experience this is the
best.

Let's for argument's sake say you're as bright as you say: just what kind of logic leads you to think that a hostile post is going to increase your chances of getting help here? OK computers can be incredibly frustrating when they don't do what you want them to but you won't get much sympathy by attacking people who have contributed a huge amount to the open source community.

We all know that there are many knowledgable and helpful people here. Chill out, change your name, then come back and see for yourself.

Just my two cents...

When someone makes statements about how "damn smart" he is I tend to have misdoubts.

Just like someone who makes protestations about how honest he is.
I run like hell: he's fixing to sell me the Brooklyn Bridge.

People who really are don't feel the need to say so.
