I found that rather funny.

See, do you guys really want a smiley set of yellow men performing oral sex?

I've always found the lol smiley pretty stupid too, but I don't have the authority or the ability to change it. Sorry fellas.

Loool. Yeah. kick to the nuts guy is probably my favourite. It can be used in almost any context.
I like exlax man too...but I don't really find many scenarios I can use it in.

Surely you could bring it up with the admins though? :) Since they don't listen to us lowly users.

The thing is, there really isn't enough people who are annoyed by it to go through the trouble to change it. Plus, as has been mentioned, there are several work-arounds if you really just can't stand it. The other mods would probably have me castrated if I tried to change it. That is the usual punishment for things like this.

Luke you're the man. A castration smiley is a great idea. Sure maybe people aren't annoyed enough by mediocre smiley icons because they lack the imagination to see how much better things could be. :|

Example: Two yellow tear drops shapes, one falls, then the next, followed by 8O

Luke, no offense, I know you're trying to help, and we're on the same side, but that excuse sucks :P

It'd take what, 10 seconds to replace/remove the smiley? It'd take about a minute to replace the entire smiley set.

And yeah, why would I ever put :!: :?: instead of the actual symbols?

Come on......

:P <-- hannibal lecter :/

You can disable smileys when you post. I disable bbcode when I want to tell people to wrap their code in [syntax=php]tags.

But then other, slightly less irritating smileys don't parse.
