Job Hunt/Project Help

Post by McGruff »

As I understand it, joob hunt/project help is for people looking for help from others who might be interested in their project as well as paid jobs.

However, the unpaid projects often get a bit of a rough ride. Sometimes they might deserve it, sometimes not. It might be good to create separate forums for job offers/seekers, and another for unpaid project help. At present, critical comments from those looking for paid work are maybe scaring off genuine attempts to find programmers with similar interests for unpaid stuff.

you probably refer to http://forums.devnetwork.net/viewtopic.php?t=11390 and I think it's a good example of why having a non-profit/volunteer section is a good idea. After all what's wrong about enthusiasm?
Everyone wants everything for free ..save the work. There's nothing wrong with earning money but as long as you take advantage of free projects you should consider contributing something in return. Why not even games?
If you're not interested in a project at least leave alone those who are - please.

I have created a new forum specifically for non-paid work and moved a few of the posts from Job Hunt into it to get it started. That should enable those seeking paid positions to not have to wade through loads of profit-sharing and free hosting schemes to find information on jobs. It also gives volunteer work a home so that those looking to build portfolios can check out the work on offer.

Mac
