An alert

Post by Peter Kelly »

When someones posts something within the PHP - Code or PHP - Security forums have an alert asking if they have put in enough information if they are asking for help e.g error and any codes it outputs whats happening etc.. As most of the time before we can help people we have to ask for them to give us more information.

I can see quite a few problems with that because of the nature of the programmers here, whom generally are beginners.

1) They don't know what kind of information to include
2) They think they are including all the necessary information
3) It will get annoying every time you post in those forums
4) The PHPBB codebase is a joke, and we avoid making changes as much as possible in lieu of keeping the software up to date.

Otherwise, I agree.
