We get quite a few questions relating to regular expressions in here.

Now, regular expressions aren't exclusive to PHP.... it would be quite handy to have a board in here for regex.... who agrees? (I'd like it anyway :P - and I'm sure feyd would).

I agree, I would like to see a centralized forum for Regex!! :D

Many questions here pertain to regex in PHP, so it seems fitting..

it would make it more general, and call it the parsing/lexing forum...

Yay! d11wtq. good move. That will be a good place for us lesser of the Regexers to turn to. It seems to me like that finally I am getting to understand them in depth, heh heh ;)

PS: Hey d11wtq! how is your PHP-Editor coming along :?:

Slowly.... it's tricky to prevent conflicts with matching keywords inside of strings and / or comments. I will get it done though :-)

I wouldnt mind having one. Although not very many people have enough of a handle on regex to help in the first place :?

Lemme be a mod and I'll moderate it LOL :P

It'd just be nice to have these categorized... it will make searching easier too.

I guess I should have had a third option "What is a RegExp?" LOL

I think it would be pretty handy, as you could not only ask questions, but get ready-to-use patterns easily :)

Also, nothing that big, but the Client-side forum should imo be split into HTML, CSS and Client-Languages (Javascript, DHTML, DOM, etc.).

I agree with tim in that I definitely think it would help to have a seperate place to ask these questions but also that the name should be a little more abstract.
